SunGreen Case Study – Compact Evaporative Cooling Unit with TurboaSOX Fabric Air Ducts, For Basement Comfort Cooling.

Delhi NCR – India’s largest automobile ancillary manufacturer entrusted us with the design and execution of comfort cooling the basement floor space where automobile components assembly is conducted.

The basement production hall was required to be cooled for achieving better working conditions for the workmen and thus achieving higher productivity. The challenges included,

  • Openings in the building to drop in the ducting were minimal in sizing – Adaptability and design engineering was a key to disperse 100% fresh air into the space.
  • RCC building with production activities carried out 24 hours a day. Ducting installation time and feasibility was very low.
  • Dispersion type was to be customized to have even flow all through the building considering the workmen are scattered around the shop floor area.

SunGreen compact evaporative cooling units, AD-18000 series was recommended for the space with TurboaSOX – Fabric Air Dispersion Systems – India’s first fabric ducting system. / fabric air ducts / fabric duct / flexible fabric ducting.

Our team of engineers designed the Industrial evaporative cooling solution taking into account various factors including the reduced ambient heat load dissipation due to the basement space. SunGreen Compact Side wall / roof mountable evaporative Cooling units were installed outside the building; the openings (windows) were used to connect the cooling units to the TurboaSOX fabric air ducting system / fabric duct inside the space with GI ducts sized to perfection to reduce the static pressure losses in the system.

TurboaSOX Fabric Air Dispersion Systems with TurboaSOX SOXProp non-collapsible apparatus was installed inside the space. SOXProp ensures that the fabric air duct does not collapse completely while the Air handling unit is switched off. TurboaSOX end tensioners were also used to facilitate the above process. Close to 700 Rmt of Fabric Ducting was completed in a matter of 3 days without any disturbance to the production inside the space. In a case if a metal ducting had been chosen, considering the challenging nature of the site, the time taken would have been a few weeks apart from the disadvantages of a GI duct including cleanliness, hygiene and non aesthetic appearance especially in a basement space. TurboaSOX fabric ducts are the fastest to install thus enabling more savings.

The custom dispersion advantage of a TurboaSOX Fabric air duct was put to maximum use to achieve even dispersion around the space to achieve comfort cooling solution.

SunGreen and TurboaSOX were proud to be associated with this esteemed organization to work on this improvement in production due to comfort cooling.
